Maren Morris To Jake Owen: Country Should ‘Hold Our Own People Accountable’
Maren Morris has reacted to Jake Owen on Twitter after fans blasted him yesterday for support Chase Rice in playing a show on Saturday and being criticized by fellow artist including Kelsea Ballerini.
Jake originally posted to Twitter last night (6/29), “In a world full of hate, be a light. I swear I’ve heard that on OUR country radio stations. It’s amazing how many country artists, songwriters and media outlets are quick to throw shade at our own people. Sad really.”

Maren reacted today (6/30), “I love you but it is perfectly okay to hold “our own” people accountable for a poor decision that will keep us all out of work even longer. I know you care about your band, crew, and fans. I’m not canceling anyone, I am respectfully wondering why they would screw us all over.”
The tweet has since been deleted.
