Last weekend I made mojitos for some summer fun summer sipping on the porch, and I almost forgot a main ingredient(simple syrup). I had to actually go back and look up the recipe. Which got me to thinking maybe I should share some summer sips recipes with you.

So, take a glance, grab a glass, and start sippin’

We’ll start with my mojito

One of the easiest drinks to make. But fresh mint makes all the difference! I’m lucky to have a friend with mint in her garden.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz White rum
  • 3 Mint leaves
  • 3/4 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • Club soda, to top
  • Garnish: Mint sprig
  • Garnish: Lime wheel

Lightly muddle the mint in a shaker. Add the rum, lime juice, simple syrup, ice and shake it for a few seconds. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice. Top it with the club soda and garnish with a lime wheel and fresh mint sprig. Tah-dah!

Now take a look at these amazing drinks and recipes, some of which are kid friendly.

Refreshing Summer Drinks to Relax With on a Hot, Sunny Day

While beer and wine are perfectly respectable for relaxing after dinner or unwinding after, say, mowing the lawn, few things go better with a Saturday spent hanging by the backyard (inflatable) pool than a refreshing cocktail, or a batch of ice-cold summer drinks.
