McDonald’s Will Be Closing 200 of its US Restaurants By the End of the Year
McDonald’s announced during its second quarter earnings call that it would be closing roughly 200 under-performing locations in the U.S. this year. More than half of these locations are set inside Walmarts.
McDonald’s had its lowest quarterly profit in 13 years in the quarter that ended last month – the under-performing stores’ revenues were down 30% while global same-store sales dropped by 23.9%.
McDonalds currently has roughly 14,000 U.S. locations. That’s a lot of frozen fries…
