AMC Theaters Are Reopening Next Week With 15 Cent Tickets

AMC is finally reopening next week (August 20th) and they're celebrating the reopening, and their centennial, with 15 cent tickets! AMC originally opened 100 years ago in 1920 so they will be showing 2020 movies at 1920 prices.

The theater chain expects to open two-thirds of its more than 600 U.S. theater locations by September 3rd. AMC's other U.S. theaters will open "only after authorized to do so by state and local officials." AMC will require all guests to wear masks, they will lower theater capacity, and upgrade ventilation systems to help protect against the spread of the coronavirus.

On top of the 15 cent tickets on opening day, the chain will offer discounts on concessions like popcorn for $5 through the end of October and discounted tickets after the 15 cent special ends as well. AMC will be reopening 10 Massachusetts theaters on August 20th.
