How to Support Charlotte’s Lemonade Stand
Charlotte’s Lemonade Stand
Charlotte Wilcox was just 7 years old when she thought, “Hey, if I sell lemonade at the end of my driveway, I might be able to save up to buy myself a new toy!” As she was getting all of her materials together to make it happen she saw a commercial on TV for St. Jude’s Hospital. She turned to her dad and asked him if that’s what he had when she was 6 months old. He nodded his head. It was cancer.
Cops for Kids with Cancer
That first year she raised a lot of money through her lemonade stand ($3,000!) and she donated every single penny to St. Jude. The next year, she partnered with a local organization called Cops for Kids with Cancer, a 501(c)3 organization that gives local families a $5,000 check to help with medical and travel expenses. Since 2002, the organization has given out over $4 million to families in need and Charlotte has contributed an amazing $15,000 towards those donations.
Charlotte’s Fierce Logo
Four years ago Charlotte designed her own logo for her lemonade stand. It’s a girl kicking a soccer ball into a goal, because at the end of the day, her goal is to kick cancer!
Charlotte’s Lemonade Event Information
This Saturday, August 15th, Charlotte is hosting a lemonade stand. Yesterday they were setting up and people already stopped their cars and donated. It’s going to be at the Subway on Route 18 in East Bridgewater from 11am-4pm. Every penny raised will go towards Cops for Kids with Cancer, so if you’re in the area make sure you stop by and buy a cup of lemonade from her!
