Kenny Chesney’s Favorite Moment On Tour
Through his career, Kenny Chesney has had so many incredible moments on stage, but one that stands out happened right here at Gillette.
Kenny was covering Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds when he saw a fan with a Red Sox hat on having the time of her life. He could tell that she has cancer and had a plan to pull her up on stage give her his cowboy hat. Once on stage, she didn’t want to take her hat off because of the hair loss from chemotherapy. They stood on stage together and Kenny took his hat off, then she did too and they touched heads. “It was just the most beautiful moment that I’ve had on stage in a long time because it was just such a connective bonding moment with that girl and I.”
Later that night, Kenny awarded a No Shoes Nation helmet away to another fan. Kenny didn’t realize that the fan actually ran across the stage, past security, to give the helmet to the fan with cancer. This showed Kenny that No Shoes Nation cares about the music, but each other as well and that’s what makes it special.
