It’s been 30 years since Tony Danza played housekeeper to Judith Light. The hit television series that ran on ABC for 8 seasons is getting a makeover and making a comeback!

Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano, who played his daughter, Samantha are both coming back! And they bringing in the big guns, with legendary television writer and producer Norman Lear(All In The Family, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, Maude)  as executive producer.

Milano shared the good news with her 2.8million Instagram followers yesterday

Milano and Danza are also serving as executive producers and looking for a landing place for the series. The sequel’s buyer would have the option to license the 196 original episodes.

Judith Light, reportedly supportive of the series revamp, will not be returning.Only Tony and Alyssa, from the original cast, are back on board, thus far.

In the original series, Danza starred as former Major League baseball player, Tony Micelli. Micelli left Brooklyn, after becoming widowed, to raise his daughter in the tony town of Fairfield, CT. There, he took a job as a live-in housekeeper to Light’s character, advertising exec Angela, and her son Jonathan.

She’s the boss at work, he’s the boss of the house. Hilarity ensues.

The theme song to the original show was sung by 80’s and 90’s country star, Steve Wariner!
