Luke Combs On His 2020 Award Wins: ‘We Have Earned This’
Luke Combs has had a stellar year in 2020: he won a number of awards and sold massive amounts of albums even though he hasn’t toured this year due to the pandemic.
Luke told us about winning in the year of COVID -19, “I’m just as thrilled, I think we all wish there could be fans and an audience of our peers there to watch us win, I think anybody would love that, that moment and that recognition, also I think when you’re winning certain things, like when I won at Billboard the other night for Top Country Artist.”
He added, “I remember thinking man, ‘We have earned this.’ We were out there busting our ass on the road and doing everything that we could to potentially be in this situation. It still feels great, you just don’t get to go out and have a big party and have drinks afterwards, that’s the only difference.”
Last month, Combs won Album of the Year for his What You See Is What You Get and Male Vocalist of the Year at the CMA Awards.
