Dogs Have Been Our Best Friends For Over 20,000 Years!
You’ve heard the saying that dogs are man’s best friends. Firstly, I’d like to change that to human’s best friends. The point is, if you have a dog, you know this is true. My children get jealous over our dog, Zoey, for crying out loud. Well, she’s pretty close to a perfect child.
And here’s a fun fact, apparently, canines have been by our side loving us for more than 20,000 years!
A new study released early this week claims that the first human beings to migrate to North America some 15,000 years ago brought their best friends with them.
Scientists believe that the connection with our pups goes back even further. It’s believed that dogs were first domesticated in Siberia, about 23,000 years ago. Crazy, right?
it's #NationalDogDay Dogs were probably the first tame animals. They have accompanied humans for at least 20,000 years and possibly as many as 40,000. Scientists generally agree that all dogs, domestic and wild, share a common wolf ancestor https://t.co/FBh2fWREvv pic.twitter.com/HDSDcv7m0p
