New Line Cinema has reportedly greenlighted a remake of the 1939 classic “Wizard of Oz.” It is being called a “fresh take” on the story of the “Land of Oz.”
Nicole Kassell of “Watchmen” fame is directing, and she says, quote, “I am exhilarated and humbled by the responsibility of re-imagining such a legendary tale. These are profoundly iconic shoes to fill, and I am eager to dance alongside these heroes of my childhood as we pave a newly minted yellow brick road!”
No word on a release date.
I’ve had enough remakes and reboots. If I want to watch “Wizard of Oz,” I’ll watch the original, thank you. No need for a modern remake in my opinion. What do you think?
