This is scary! Today around 11:40am an MBTA train transporting roughly 100 passengers derailed. It was an orange line train and it occurred right at Wellington Station. Thankfully no one was reported injured.
According to MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo, a slow-moving northbound train was crossing over to the southbound track when it derailed. “Buses are operating between Oak Grove and Community College Stations while MBTA personnel work to re-rail the train,” Pesaturo said. The train was part of the new fleet of Orange Line cars. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
