WATCH: Thomas Rhett Gets Back To Being ‘Country Again’
Thomas Rhett’s new single “Country Again” is, as the title hints, a return to straight ahead country music. Thomas just released the title track from his upcoming fifth studio double album Country Again Side A.
Rhett said, “I’ve been counting down the days to get this one out to y’all. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve written yet and honestly just feels full circle in so many ways… it’s about the crazy journey I’ve been on over the last decade and ultimately finding my way back home.”
The song is written by Thomas, Zach Crowell and Ashley Gorley. The lyrics in the chorus include: “Yeah, I love me some California, but it sure ain’t Tennessee / And my roots down there in Georgia, yeah, they started missin’ me,” he sings. “And I wouldn’t change the things I’ve done or the places that I’ve been / Man, it feels good to be country again.”
Rhett posted to Instagram, “I saw the light I found I found the way home. Thank you Lord, Amen. Man it feels good to be country again.”
Up next, the reigning ACM “Entertainer of the Year” is set to perform at the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards live from Nashville this weekend. Tune-in on Sunday, April 18 at 8/7c on CBS.
