Garth Brooks Wouldn’t Leave Trisha Yearwood’s Side While She Had COVID
Trisha Yearwood told Kelly Clarkson on her show this week that when she had COVID, her husband Garth Brooks refused to leave her side, even though he tested negative for the virus, and therefore could have caught it from her.
Trisha shared, “He was really wonderful … He was really great.” Brooks told her, “We’re in this together.”
She offered, “I’m like, ‘You have to get away from me. You have to quarantine in another room … I cannot give Garth Brooks COVID. And he never did [contract it]. And [when] he had the vaccine, he didn’t have any [side effects] — not even a sore arm.”
In fact, Yearwood admits she’s not sure she would have done the same for him: “I was like, ‘If you get this, I’m not gonna sleep in the bed with you … I love you, but no.'”
Trisha did joke about why Garth never got the virus, “He’s an alien, and I think we’ve proved this.”
Yearwood did divulge to Clarkson that for the last eight weeks she’s still unable to taste or smell anything. It was her taste that was the first sign of her getting COVID as she recalled that coffee Brooks made for her was weak.
