Chris Stapleton, Darius Rucker & More Appear On Metallica ‘Black Album’ Covers LP
Metallica is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark self-titled album (aka: “The Black Album”) with an amazing new covers compilation. Included on the covers album are country artists Chris Stapleton, Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, and Mickey Guyton.
The all-star album, dubbed The Metallica Blacklist, has Stapleton, Rucker and Guyton each contributing versions of Metallica’s classic ballad “Nothing Else Matters,” while Pardi put his own spin on “Wherever I May Roam.” Other artists contributing to The Metallica Blacklist include Miley Cyrus, Elton John, Corey Taylor, Volbeat, Portugal. The Man, Cage The Elephant and more.
Metallica said in a statement, “One hundred percent of the profits go to charity – 50% to our own All Within My Hands [Foundation] and 50% to a charity of each artist’s choice.”
Stapleton’s camp posted to his Instagram this morning (6/22), “Chris Stapleton has joined 52 other artists in covering a song from @metallica’s The Black Album for The Metallica Blacklist out September 10th. All proceeds from his cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ will go to Metallica’s @allwithinmyhandsfoundation and @osok. #MetallicaBlacklist.”
Pardi posted, “I joined 52 other artists in covering a song from @Metallica’s The Black Album for The Metallica Blacklist out September 10th. All proceeds from my cover of ‘Wherever I May Roam’ will go to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation and The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism.
