Billboard Names The Greatest All-Time Song of Summer… (and you’ll never believe what it is)
What do you think is the greatest summer song of all time? Country has so many HUGE summer songs – “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “Chattahoochie,” “Body Like A Back Road,” “Strawberry Wine,” “Summertime,” and “Chicken Fried” all come to mind. Or maybe something by the Beach Boys? That’d make sense. However Billboard’s choice for the Greatest Summer Song of All Time just doesn’t in my opinion.
Here it is…. Billboard’s pick for the Greatest Summer Song of All Time:
Puff Daddy “I’ll Be Missing You.” Nothing against the song, I like it. I enjoy a wide-range of genres of music. But…. never once did I think of Puff Daddy “I’ll Be Missing You” while putting together a playlist for a summer cookout or the beach.
The song spent 11 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and it won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group but it’s not in my summer Top 100, much less #1.
