Londonderry, New Hampshire Police: “Apple Theft Is a Crime”
Police in Londonderry, New Hampshire have a seasonal message for the public, picking apples without paying is considered theft.
Officers caught a number of people from Everett, Massachusetts on Tuesday, who almost made off with hundreds of dollars in apples from a local orchard.
“As apple picking season ramps up here in Londonderry, we just wanted to issue a reminder that apple theft is a crime,” police said in a statement.
“Our officers are routinely checking our orchards and working with the orchard owners to help prevent this crime, which results in the loss of thousands of dollars in inventory every year.”
So as apple picking season ramps up, remember to do it the right way and pay for those apples you pick. No word on if liberties are taken around the apples you eat while picking them, though.
