90s Country Is Huge With Gen Zs
As noted author Stephen King once wrote, “Sooner or later, everything old is new again.”
When it comes to music, people tend to find comfort in the familiar. As as much as we country fans love devouring all the new music, throwbacks are our fuzzy-warm blanky.
But it’s not just those of us who lived the “throwbacks.” According to recent data compiled by Spotify, Gen Zs are falling in love with 90s country music. They are searching it, learning about it and downloading it at impressive rates. Furthermore, those in the age 19-24 demographic have created 89 million playlists that feature 1990s country hits.
From Garth, to Trisha, Shania, Toby Keith, The Chicks, Wynonna, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Martina, Brooks & Dunn, 90s country stars are finding a brand new audience. Gen Zs are those born between 1996 and the late 2000s.
What are some of your favorite 90’s country songs?
It's not just middle parts and straight-leg pants; Gen Z also apparently has a thing for '90s country music. 🤠 🎶 https://t.co/2GHXUtENwH
