In just a few short years, Kane Brown has become a country music superstar and many times is the face of country music at events where he is the only country act.
Kane’s music immediately took off with listeners, and many of his songs have become anthems for love, fun, and equality.
At just 28 years old today (10/21), we celebrate Brown’s birthday with a look at eleven songs that put him on the music map.
12. “What Ifs” (featuring Lauren Alaina) 2017
ShareThe song is about a couple where the question "what if" is asked repeatedly about what would happen in their relationship. The song is a duet with Kane’s high school friend Lauren Alaina.
11. “Lose It,” 2018
ShareKane said of the song, "I fell in love with this song, it was really exciting, it was really uptempo. It’s one of my favorite songs, so I hope you enjoy it." The song's video features Brown performing in the desert with a vintage Camaro.
10. “One Thing Right” (with Marshmello) 2019
ShareWhat a collaboration! The lyrics are about a man who lies, steals, and always gets himself in trouble. The only thing he doesn't screw up is the love he's somehow found while being such a rascal. Brown described the song as "kind of the opposite" of Marshmello's collaboration with Bastille, "Happier."
9. “One Mississippi,” 2021
ShareKane said the song covered a relationship about "where you makeup and you break up, and you just keep running into each other, and then something about that spark in the relationship gets y’all back together and may fall apart again." The video features "the story of a lovestruck pair."
8. “Blessed & Free” (with H.E.R.) 2021
ShareHis new collaboration her H.E.R., and what a wonderful song! The video for the song is black and white and quite powerful.
7. “Homesick” 2019
ShareBrown co-wrote the song about his own "experience traveling on the road and being away from his loved ones," but he dedicated it to military families.
6. “Famous Friends” (with Chris Young) 2020
ShareChris Young put this song on the album of the same name, and he and fellow native Tennessean Kane filmed a video for it. A great song, and Brown brings famous people to his concert to come and sing it with him. In 2021, he brought out quarterback Patrick Mahomes and actor Taylor Lautner to name a few.
5. “Cool Again” (featuring Nelly) 2020
ShareBrown wrote the song at a songwriter's retreat during the wintertime. In August 2020, Brown remixed the song featuring rapper Nelly. This remix also received a music video featuring the two singers on a beach.
4. “Heaven” 2017
ShareA gem of a song. Kane first discovered the song at a writer's retreat where he heard it from through the floor while he was working on another song ("What's Mine Is Yours") upstairs. "Heaven" reached number one on the US Country Airplay chart in 2018, becoming Brown's second number one on the chart.
3. “Worship You” 2020
ShareThis could be the perfect love song! Brown released "Worship You" for his wife, Katelyn Jae. "Worship You" depicted his belief in their love, comparing it to his belief in the Bible. Kane said, "When we were writing it, we didn't know what to write about. I think we tried like four different songs before we wrote that song... But I remember us writing it. It came, you know, so fluidly. We actually wrote it pretty fast."
1. “Worldwide Beautiful” 2020
ShareAn amazing song for the ages! Kane told Variety, “As an artist, you want to release a song that everybody can relate to and not argue about. So, I don’t think there’s anything arguable in the song. It’s just saying everybody should be treated the same, and stop looking at colors, because everybody’s worldwide beautiful… I hope the song gets more life."
