Meet Juliana Cervizzi from North Reading
North Reading’s Juliana Cervizzi left home for Nashville to pursue a degree in songwriter at the city’s renowned, Belmont University. There, she met her friend and collaborator on a new song, Colby Austin. Their chemistry in the haunting, heart-tugging , lost-love song feels organic, warm and right.
Juliana has been honing her vocal skills since a very young age. She started lessons in second grade and has been working on her craft ever since. What’s remarkable about Cervizzi is that athough she is obviously highly trained, her vocals give the impression of being effortless; completely natural, almost as if she is singing her thoughts and emotions.
There’s a beautiful vulnerability in Juliana’s performance, creating a empathy on the ears it falls upon. Alluring, transporting, rich vocals precisely execute this songwriter’s message. Whether singing alone or accompanying, this Boston native is a standout. I’m excited to see where her talent takes her.
Cervizzi Serenades
Juliana met her collaborator on “Do It All Again.” last year at school. Colby brought her this song he had started, and she helped finish this beautifully written heartbreaker. Their voices are pure and simple…simpatico.
Their voices and their message in this original composition are clearly resonating with music lovers. The song has already surpassed 10,000 streams.

- Now lives in: Nashville, TN (Songwriting major at Belmont University)
- Current single: “Do It All Again”
- What is your song about/how did it come to be: “Do It All Again” is about the feeling after a break up where no matter what happened between you two, good or bad, you would give anything to do it all again, even just for one more night. To quote our lyrics, “Just to mess up one last time, I’d kill for one more fight with you, even though I’d lose.” Colby started writing this song during our first semester at Belmont University last fall. He brought this song to me in the winter and I helped him finish it. Within about a month we had performed it live on Broadway here in Nashville and got into the studio to record it. Couple months down the road, here we are with the final, released product that we are so proud of.
- What lead you to music: I’ve been a singer since the day I was born. When I was a baby, all I would do was cry and cry and cry, but my mom tells me it was just me trying to sing. I started official singing lessons at age 7 and have been ever since. For my whole life, music has been my escape; my one true passion. I will always pursue a career in music and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

- If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing: Working with special needs children or studying to become a psychologist
- Most proud moment: Finally feeling confident enough to quit sports to focus on my music. After attending Berklee College of Music’s summer program, I realized that I could really do this. I found confidence in my craft and was inspired to go all in.
- Crazy thing that happened in your music career: The highlight of my career so far was having the opportunity to travel between New York and LA to work with industry professionals to put together my first EP
- Other things you like to do: spend time with friends and family, photography, drawing, finding hidden gem places either back home in Boston or here in Nashville
- Fun fact: I’m a second degree black belt in karate
- Mantra: always put yourself in someone else’s shoes before you judge
