HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AC! 🎉🎂 pic.twitter.com/Aw8zs1zNRD
Born Jose Alexander Cora in Caguos, Puerto Rico, the Sox manager still lives there during the off-season. He has four kids, including twins who were born during the 2017 season. Alex and the Red Sox are battling his former team, the Houston Astros for the title of American League Champions. The former infielder played 14 seasons in MLB including stints Boston, LA, Cleveland, New York, Texas and Washington, DC.
After hanging up his cleats Cora served as bench coach for the Houston Astros, helping to bring them a World Series Championship in 2017. We all remember what happened when he came to manage the Red Sox in 2018… Another World Series win!
Fun facts: Alex is only the fifth MLB manager to win the World Series in his first season, and the first Puerto Rican manager of a World Series-winning team.
Happy birthday to Alex Cora, and best of luck tonight!
Good Morning!
