Kyle From Waltham? But Is He?
Wondering what’s going on with Red Sox first baseman and last night’s grand slam hitter, Kyle Schwarber and the city of Waltham? Is he actually from there? Wait, and is he wearing a Waltham Hawks tee shirt in his press conference following the obliterating of the Astros last night?
So, no. Kyle isn’t from Waltham. Apparently Barstool Sports’ Jared Carrabis started the ball rolling but dubbing Schwarber with the nickname, “Kyle from Waltham,” referring to his “regular guy” demeanor. Schwarber embraced his new title and town.
“I guess my hometown is Waltham now. So, go Hawks,” Schwarber joked.
KYLE FROM WALTHAM! Your city is SO proud of you! ⚾️❤️ (IYKYK😉) #GoSox pic.twitter.com/3f0ShGEk4w

The slugger is actually from Middletown, Ohio. His new town and title must really be connecting with people, because in the “Notable People” section of Wikipedia’s “Waltham” page, he is listed as the “best left-handed power hitter in baseball.”
I love Kyle Schwarber with every fiber of my being. Makes me proud seeing a local kid make it big. pic.twitter.com/fg6uhypQHu
