Carrie Underwood Reacts To AMA Wins, Ties Garth Brooks, Justin Bieber
It took her a minute, but Carrie Underwood has reacted to winning her 16th and 17th career American Music Awards last night (11/22) at Sunday’s show (11/21).
While Carrie and Jason Aldean did perform, it was in Nashville, and she wasn’t in the audience at the Los Angeles-based awards show.
Underwood took to Twitter last night to post, “Can’t believe I won TWO @AMAs last night!!! Thanks, fans, for always going above and beyond! These belong to YOU!!!”

Carrie’s 8th win for Favorite Female Country Artist and her first for Favorite Inspirational Artist elevate her to tie Garth Brooks and Justin Bieber as the sixth top AMA winners of all time.
With 15 prior wins, including seven for Favorite Female Country Artist (2007, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019), Underwood was previously tied with Reba McEntire and Lionel Richie as the seventh-highest all-time winners.
