Garth Brooks Dominates Nashville’s Ryman This Weekend
Tonight and tomorrow night (11/19-20), Garth Brooks will be playing sold-out shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. His first of three shows was last night (11/18) at the Opry House.
Garth said before last night’s show, “There’s no script; there’s no nothin’. This is going to be just flying by the seat of your pants. Nobody including me has a clue what’s going to happen.”
He added, “I’m going to get to sit on the two greatest stages in country music history…and I’m going to play country music. I don’t even know if I’ll play any Garth stuff!. We’re just gonna play country music… from Keith Whitley to Ricky Skaggs…Randy Travis and George Strait… Merle Haggard, George Jones… so much good stuff. And we’ll stray over into some other music, too, like James Taylor. It’s going to be a real selfish three nights for me.”
Brooks added Thursday’s (11/18) kickoff performance at the Opry House when the initially-announced two nights at the Ryman sold out immediately, leaving many hopeful attendees unable to get a ticket.
