Tim McGraw Says Faith Hill’s Slap On ‘1883’ Set It Was ‘A Genuine Hit’
Even though Faith Hill has been married to Tim McGraw for 25 years, intimate scenes that she shares with Tim in the new Yellowstone prequel 1883 are the hardest for her.
Faith told People of the scene where her character Margaret Dutton and McGraw’s character James Dutton take a bath together, “It was uncomfortable for me personally because I’m a very shy person in that type of situation. I obviously feel comfortable with my husband, but this is different. For intimate scenes, I feel like that belongs to us.”
Another challenge for Hill is bathroom breaks with the corsets and petticoats she wears on the set. She admits, “There’s just so many layers of clothing. Sometimes you’re successful, and sometimes you’re not.”
Tim shared with the publication that the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary (October 6) on the set working. He offered that when it came to a scene where she slapped him, her acting was a bit too real. McGraw joked, “We had this scene where she has to slap me. I was expecting a finger slap, but it was a paw to the jaw. There was 25 years of pent-up aggression going on! When you see it on screen, you realize it was a genuine hit.”
1883 premieres December 19 on Paramount +.
