Betty White’s cause of death has been revealed, according to People. The gossip site reports that the American icon died from a stroke that she suffered six days prior to her passing on December 31, 2021.
A death certificate obtained by the gossip site TMZ says that the comedian’s cause of death  “is listed as a cerebrovascular accident, which is a loss of blood flow to part of the brain, resulting in brain tissue damage.”
Betty was alert and coherent after the stroke according to the outlet adding that she died peacefully in her sleep at home.
Her passing was just weeks before her milestone 100th birthday on January 17 which has been dubbed “Betty White Day” in her Illinois hometown Oak Park.
