Thomas Rhett Reveals His First Kiss With His Wife Didn’t Go Well

In Thomas Rhett’s latest song, “Slow Down Summer,” he talks all about young summer love and wishing time would slow down. Rhett knows a bit about romance: he and his wife Lauren have been married for nine years and have four kids together.

Although they have a lot of memories, some were not so fond, including their first kiss. Rhett sat down with some of his songwriter buddies and revealed his first kiss with Lauren was at age 15 on his parents’ trampoline and said “and we literally clanked teeth”.

Songwriter and producer, Jesse Frasure joked that Rhett’s first kiss was ambitious. Thomas agreed and asked, “Have you ever clanked teeth? It’s horrible. I mean, there is no recovering from that. But somehow, someway it did.”

It is safe to say he recovered. Thomas and Lauren got married in 2012 and just celebrated their first Christmas as a family of six.
