Luke Combs played at the Daytona 500 for the second straight year over the weekend (2/20) and took some questions from the press just before his performance.

While Luke has been teasing that new music is coming on his social media, no date has been confirmed his next album's release, and no first single has yet to be announced from the project. He explained, "It's been a long process. I was working on it really hard before this tour we did in the fall. I kinda took a pause on working on [the album] because I just really wanted to focus on that tour."

Combs also admitted that COVID and touring was also a factor in the album's delay, saying, "We didn't cancel one show. We had a lot of setbacks, you know — regulatory setbacks, things like that. But It was nice to be able to just focus on that, and that's been the reason the album's not out yet."

As for what fans can expect on the new album, he offered, "Man, it's just gonna be real good. I've been working hard on it for a long time."

Luke's wife Nicole posted a photo of the couple at the big race. She wrote, "fast cars & freedom 🏁."
