Kowloon Pop-Up Champagne Tiki Bar Opens at Moxy Boston Downtown
You no longer have to head up Route 1 to get a taste of Kowloon… because a pop-up champagne tiki bar has just opened at Moxy Boston Downtown.
Moxy Boston Downtown has opened a 2Faced Tiki Pop-Up Bar with Kowloon, where it will be serving specialty drinks from the restaurant on the weekends, featuring Capricorn Champagne cocktails, Kowloon Mai Tai, White Mai Tai, and Scorpion Bowls. The hotel lounge and bar, Bar Moxy, will now be tiki themed nights from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.
Last summer, Kowloon opened an outdoor Capricorn Champagne Bar that brought a Miami theme to Saugus. The bar featured an outdoor lounge area with white couches, LED lights, and a walk up bar. The menu had everything from sparkling cocktails, to spritzers, to popsicles with prosecco. Proving to be successful, Bar Moxy decided it would be a great addition to the hotel lounge.
“We thought, we’ve got underused space here on our first floor. We have floor-to-ceiling windows, so we just hoped to catch the eye of passing foot traffic. We added a light-up bar that really grabs your attention,” said Vanessa Bitton, director of operations for the Lyons Group, which runs Bar Moxy.
According to Boston.com, the 2Faced name comes from the combination of Kowloon’s tiki drinks and those made specifically for the champagne bar. It takes over the ground floor of the hotel and offers champagne cocktails and tiki cocktails using Kowloon’s past and present recipes.
One thing on the menu that you need to try while you’re there? The “Get 2Faced” Shotski shot, as seen in the video below: tequila and Cointreau with a splash of Prosecco on top. Check out the Instagram account here for more details!
