Kacey Musgraves Among Time’s 2022 ‘Women Of The Year’

Kacey Musgraves is one of four women that grace the cover of Time‘s “Women Of The Year” issue for 2022. Other honored women include actress Kerry Washington and Olympic Champion Allyson Felix.

In the interview, Kacey said, “I have been told ‘no’ a lot in terms of something that I would want to take a creative risk on. I decided I’d rather go down in flames for something I really believe in than present a watered-down version of myself that may make me more money. You have to fight that until you can get to a place where you can have total creative freedom, and I’m getting there.”

Musgraves posted the cover image and the news to Instagram, writing in part, “This planet undoubtedly needs more female perspective and energy, and I take it with great honor and gratitude to have the opportunity to share mine.”

Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town responded to the post, writing, “Proud of you and the way you represent us. Congrats!!!!”
