Elle King says she’s in country music for the long haul after scoring her second number one song on country radio with the Miranda Lambert Grammy-nominated duet “Drunk ( And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).”

King’s first trip to the top of the country charts came in 2016 with her duet with Dierks Bentley, “Different For Girls.” It was also nominated for the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

Elle told us in a recent interview, “Never in a million years would I have ever thought that a song that I wrote when I was about 24 years old would ever have the life that it has. With such a superstar on it as Miranda Lambert, who is now such a beautiful friend in my life.”

She added, “But for that song to go to number one means absolutely everything in the world to me for a song that I wrote, as I come and dive headfirst into the country world for it to go number one means so much to me. I’m in country. Elle King’s here to stay.”
