Don Orsillo Will Call Tonight’s Red Sox Game!
Has it really been 7 years since Don Orsillo sat at the NESN Red Sox studio at Fenway to call games with his best friend, the late great Jerry Remy at his side doing color commentary?
Get ready for “all the feels” because tonight Sox fans will be treated to Orsillo’s warm, familiar voice, as he will be calling the game for the Red Sox, in their game vs The Braves in Atlanta! For one night only, Don will do play-by-play for the Red Sox, only this time for TBS, But wait, the reunion gets even better as The TBS broadcast will also include Hazel Mae, a former NESN Sportsdesk anchor and Sox sideliner reporter.
Don was our guy in the booth from 2001-2015 and his chemistry on-air with Remy was undeniable. Nobody appeared to have more with play-by-play than those two. Orsillo is a New Englander and still has plenty of fans around here. In fact, when fans found out NESN was dropping him, over 62,000 Red Sox fans signed a petition to bring him back.
Since he left Boston, Don has served as the voice of the Padres in San Diego. He also calls games, nationally, for TBS.
