Do you have Tik Tok on your phone? If you do you aren't alone. Over 1.3 Billion people have downloaded the app. And the US Government has a problem with that.

The FCC Commissioner says they think Apple and Google should delete Tik Tok from the app store." TikTok is said to collect “everything”, from search and browsing histories; keystroke patterns; biometric identifiers—including faceprints, something that might be used in unrelated facial recognition technology, and voiceprints—location data; draft messages; metadata; and data stored on the clipboard, including text, images, and videos." They also say that anyone with the app on their phone should delete it imeadiately.

This story is 3 weeks old.

It all sounds very scary, but do you want to hear something hilarious? This story is 3 weeks old. It just blew up overnight when people on tik tok started talking about it. And all of the information I just gave you came from a blog for the company Malwarebytes which is trying to sell you encrypted privacy protection through a VPN. It’s literally like getting statistics on how bad McDonalds is from Wendys.

And to be fair Tik Tok doesn't do anything that any other company like META or Google has been accused of. The only solution to this is for the federal government to pass a law protecting our privacy. Something that privacy advocates have been pushing for us to have for over 20 years.
