Chick Fil A is asking people to work for food
Chick-fil-A is requesting ‘volunteers’ to work for five chicken sandwiches per hour.
.
A North Carolina Chick-fil-A posted a job opportunity on Facebook that offered “volunteers” chicken, not money, as payment.
A recent post on the store’s Facebook page, which has since been taken down after receiving widespread criticism, is recruiting volunteers for a new “Drive Thru Express.” “We are seeking volunteers for our new Drive Thru Express!” the post reads. “Earn five free meals per shift (one hour) worked. Contact us for more information.”
Many commenters noted that Chick-fil-A is a hugely popular fast food chain worth over $14 billion, and thus they should not be asking people to work for free. Because fast food chains frequently employ franchisees, the Chick-fil-A Hendersonville location is a franchise. Corporate Chick-fil-A did not respond to a request for comment immediately.
According to the store’s second post, ‘we incentivized customers to drive customers to our restaurant to eat during our new drive thru express launch. Usually, it’s a win-win for us and the volunteer who gets free Chick-fil-A, since our team can then focus on serving guests as we do best. That way, we can keep our focus on serving guests.’
You may have experienced traffic jams caused by pedestrian traffic spilling onto major roadways, due to the long lines at a Chick-fil-A near you.
Because locations like Hendersonville have been building these Drive Thru Express lanes, stores that have them utilize a portion of the parking lot to construct multiple drive-thru lanes operated by numerous employees. It requires employees to operate, and it appears as if Hendersonville is so desperate for employees that it is requesting volunteers to work for nuggets and sandwiches.
