Luke Bryan and Mitchell Tenpenny Cover a Timeless Classic in New Hampshire
Luke Bryan rocked the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion for three massive shows this week, and he brought along his friends Riley Green and Mitchell Tenpenny. It’s become a tradition that shares the likes of Kenny at Gillette, and if you went, we hope you had so much fun!
Luke Bryan has been in Nashville for a long time now, and aside from performing his numerous hits, he loves writing them too. In fact, that’s how he started out. Back in the early 2000s, he wrote a smash hit that eventually became a single for Billy Currington. ‘Good Directions’ has become one of the biggest country songs of the century, and this week, Luke Bryan brought Mitchell Tenpenny on-stage with him to perform a rendition of it at the Pavilion.
The story of how Billy Currington got this massive song instead of Luke Bryan is actually hilarious. In a 2017 performance, Currington shared it.
It’s always cool to see how some of country music’s biggest songs come to fruition, and when there is a great story behind it, well it’s just awesome.
