A moment of silence is taken at Fenway Park.

Just before the Red Sox were set to take on the Milwaukee Brewers for the final game of the series at Fenway Park on Sunday, the news of Celtics legend Bill Russell spread throughout the ballpark.

Before the first pitch of the game, fans at Fenway Park took part in a moment of silence that lasted for a few minutes during the pre-game ceremony. A photo of Russell was displayed on the center field video board, along with the dates of his lifespan.

Bill Russell played thirteen seasons of basketball in Boston, which includes eleven championships. He was also a major advocate for civil rights and will be greatly missed.
