Bluebikes Had a Record-Smashing Boston Weekend Amidst Orange Line Shutdown
Bluebikes is Boston’s bikeshare service and it had a record weekend this past weekend. The Orange Line shut down for a month of service starting this past Friday and that’s when the bikes started flying.
City officials in Boston reported a little over 36,000 trips this weekend, beating the previous record of 18,303 trips in September 2021.
With the Orange Line and portions of the Green Line in shut down mode for a month, commuters will be relying heavily on bikes, shuttle buses, and the Commuter Rail to get where they need to go.
