Last night's (11/10) 55th Annual CMA Awards was one for the books:  from Katy Perry and Lionel Richie joining Luke Bryan on stage to help out hosting, to the amazing performances of Chris Stapleton, Jennifer Hudson, Blake Shelton, and Luke Combs. It was a night to remember.

It was also a first for a couple of superstars including Luke Combs, who won the "Entertainer of the Year" honor for the first time, and Carly Pearce, who scored the "Female Vocalist" honor for her first time. Jimmie Allen also won his first CMA Award in the New Artist category.

And what a huge night for Chris Stapleton, who took home four awards including Album of the Year for Starting Over.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - NOVEMBER 10: Blake Shelton performs during the 55th annual Country Music Association awards at the Bridgestone Arena on November 10, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s. Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
