Carrie Underwood Reveals What She Loves To Do To ‘Unwind’
The life of a country music superstar can be a bit tense and quite busy at times, and Carrie Underwood recently shared in an interview what she does to keep things positive and help her to relax when she is not working.
“A couple of hobbies I have outside of music that help me unwind are working out and gardening. They’re both physical, you know, you’re moving your body, they’re both stress relievers. I love being in the gym; I love working out; it’s good for my brain, good for my body, makes my whole rest of the day go better.”
She added, “Being in the garden, you’re getting your hands dirty, you’re outside in the sunshine, and there’s just so many things about gardening that are stress relievers, that make me feel good.”
In addition to her hobbies, Underwood thinks people should have a healthy relationship with social media. Carrie stressed the importance of being able to “put your phone down or close your computer” in order to “interact with people more than you are on your devices.” She also noted, “Having a healthy balance… like everything else in life. Then no one thing weighs you down too much. So use it as it was intended, post your fun pictures, follow your friends and family and then go talk to your friends and family and hang out with them.”
When she turns to music to unwind, Underwood says her playlist “fluctuates with my mood.” She said, “You have songs that when you’re happy, you want to listen to these songs. And when you’re stressed out or sad or whatever it is, you have songs that you can listen to to elevate your mood and make you feel better. Or songs that can just be right there with you, wherever you are.”
She concluded. “I listen to a wide variety of music, and it varies from day to day, but it’s all about your mood and enhancing that.”
