First Day Back And I’m Already Crying (In a Good way!)
I’m Back On Air!
Maternity leave was awesome but starting today, I am back on-air! I gave birth to a sweet baby boy with blue eyes and blonde hair! (who woulda thought?) Barrett looks nothing like me, but so much like his daddy so I can’t complain.
Quick updates
Barrett was born at 8lbs12oz and 20.5 inches long on August 9th and today, he’s already over 25 inches long and is 90% in height and 50% in weight. You won’t believe it but he eats like a crazy man and totally freaks out when you take the bottle away, which is the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. Of course he loves bath time, being swaddled, snuggling with mommy and daddy, and riding in the car. Barrett hates tummy time, when you change his diaper before feeding him, and his swinging chair.
When I entered the studio on my first day I was surprised with the sweetest image. It was a big fat head cutout of Barrett underneath a blue sign that said “Welcome Back Momma!” You can see the picture down below. But oh my goodness, it literally brought tears to my eyes. Leaving him for the first day was really difficult. I didn’t know how my emotions would react, and mannnn did they react. I cried so hard the night before I went back to work. I thought to myself, “This is the last night that I will have with just my husband, my baby and me with no work.” I think all mommas feel that way when going back to work for the first time. If we collected all of the tears we’ve cried from missing our babies we could fill the Atlantic Ocean!
My husband was so sweet and bought me flowers, wine and a card to celebrate my first day back. It was INCREDIBLY sweet of him! (He even signed the card from himself and our son). I want to give a shoutout to my husband for all of the support he’s given me over the past 5+ years.
