CNN reported today (10/6) that the number of people killed in Florida by Hurricane Ian rose to at least 101 days after the storm made landfall at Category 4 strength. Ian decimated coastal towns and left rescue crews searching for survivors.
This isn’t the first time Miranda has stepped up to help animals after a disaster, in the fall of 2021, Miranda Lambert announced that the MuttNation Fund at Waggle, with generous support from the Country Music Association’s Music Industry COVID Support (MICS) initiative, had expanded its program to help all pet owners who are employed in the music community.
Initially created to assist music community members with vet bills who COVID had impacted, the MuttNation Fund at Waggle now exists to help anyone in the industry with their pet’s medical bills for any reason.
Miranda said at the time, “We know there are still many people dealing with the impact of the pandemic, and it’s clear there will be a need long after it’s passed because unexpected vet bills can be overwhelming. We want the music community to know we’re here to help.”
