Fans were overjoyed with one fan writing, “He’s so perfect! What a blessing and gift from God! Congratulations to you and your beautiful family!” American Idol‘s official Instagram wrote, “Congratulations, Gabby & Cade!” One more fan gushed, “Aww, congratulations, Gabby! He’s absolutely precious.”
The American Idol alums met and fell in love on season 16 of the ABC show in 2018. In March of the following year, Cade proposed to Gabby, and they tied the knot in October 2019 in Texas.
The couple’s daughter, Baylah, arrived in January 2021. In May, the couple announced that they were having a second child. Gabby chose Mother’s Day (5/8) to announce that she and her husband are expecting their second child, a boy.
Barrett posted a video clip of the ultrasound on her Instagram. She wrote, “My son. Another LIFE we get to love and cherish. Happy Mother’s Day!”
In August, Gabby took a moment to answer fan questions on Insta stories and talked about the new bundle of joy.
She was then touring with Jason Aldean, and as she shared, it wasn’t easy being pregnant on the road. She said at the time, “Okay, I love performing; it is getting difficult. What people don’t see is there is a lot of sitting around all day before the show, which makes everyone groggy.”
She added, “I struggle with very low blood pressure every day in this pregnancy, which makes it hard to have the energy to perform.”
Barrett did note that this pregnancy was a bit easier than her first one with her daughter, Baylah, “I had a very difficult first pregnancy but still a blessing, of course.” When asked by a fan if this second pregnancy was planned, Gabby noted, “Not really. It was a clear prayer answered, though.”
