Carly Pearce Is Ready For Thanksgiving And That Pumpkin Pie
Carly Pearce is ready for Thanksgiving. This week, she heads home to her native Kentucky to celebrate the big day with her family. Carly is looking forward to spending quality time with her family after such a busy few months in Nashville.
She shared with us what her perfect Thanksgiving plate would be, “Oooh, turkey, dressing with some gravy on it. I don’t really like my turkey with gravy on it, but I want it with dressing. Cranberry sauce, some kinda sweet potato, something, then all of the pumpkin pie.” She adds with a laugh, “Like, all of it. I just want it all. A lot of times, my mom makes a pecan pie for my dad and a pumpkin for me.”
In the last few months, Pearce’s schedule has been crazy and included hosting the ACM Honors, and being named one of CMT’s Artists of the Year. She also played two sold-out shows at The Ryman, and was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. Additionally, she released the video for her latest single, “What He Didn’t Do.” Most recently, she won CMA Musical Event of the Year with Ashley McBryde for “Never Wanted to Be That Girl.”
Carly told us just before the CMA Awards on November 8th that she would love to take home the Female Vocalist award she won in 2021. “Would I be lying if I said I didn’t wanna win it again? Of course. I think that over the last few years, I’ve had such huge jumps in my career. I think that moment, in particular, did make me believe that anything is possible.”
She added, “And so, I think just as I go into this awards season, but also just as I continue to think about what goals in the next 1 to 5 years, I think I can do anything. So, just to even see my name [among the nominees], there’s so many great females, especially right now. Just because I’m the Female Vocalist of the Year right now doesn’t mean that I was guaranteed a nomination. So, just to get the nomination was really special, and I have to remind myself of that.”
