Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, More Added to New Year’s Eve Bash
Big names have been added to the New Year’s Eve: Nashville’s Big Bash event that will be hosted by Jimmie Allen and Elle King and ET’s Rachel Smith. The celebration to ring in the new year will air from Music City Saturday, December 31 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT; 10:30 PM-1:30 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Joining previously announced performers Kelsea Ballerini, Brooks & Dunn, Little Big Town, and Zac Brown Band are Jason Aldean, Jimmie Allen, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, King Calaway, Sheryl Crow, Flo-Rida, Riley Green, Elle King, Ashley McBryde, Steve Miller, Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker, Lainey Wilson, and The War and Treaty. The five-hour broadcast will feature more than 50 back-to-back performances, live from the home of country music. Nashville will count down with the East Coast at midnight and keep the party going through midnight Central Time with the city’s renowned Music Note Drop.
A press release said, “The special event will feature once-in-a-lifetime collaborations with artists inviting special guests and artist friends to perform together throughout the night, taking on their biggest hits as well as covers of some of the most iconic country music songs of all time. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.”
Many of the new performers added posted about the event on their social media, including Darius Rucker, who posted to Instagram, “Cheers to the New Year!! Ring in 2023 from @visitmusiccity with a night full of music on New Year’s Eve LIVE: Nashville’s Big Bash, December 31 on @cbstv. #CBSNashvilleNYE.”
Many fans reacted to his post, including one who wrote, “I’ll be off from work, so no working at the hospital. I can put my feet up, sit with my pups and relax for once and enjoy the Big Bash!”
Lainey Wilson posted to her Insta stories along with the announcement of her performing on the show, “We’re closing out 2022 with a big ole party. Ya’ll tune in on December 31 on CBS to catch me perform.”
