3 Boston Bruins Ranked As ESPN’s Top 50 Best NHL Players This Season
With the NHL Winter Classic at Fenway just days away and the Bruins still running hot, hockey is the talk of the town in Boston (and all over New England) right now. So, let’s stay on topic and take a look at which Bruins made the Top 50 Best NHL players ESPN for the 2022-2023.
3 Boston Bruins made the cut for ESPN’s top 50 players list for this NHL season. The list is based on a panel of writers who ranked the top 100 based on who they thought would have the best season, back in October. The highest ranked Bruins player is 21st. But, I believe that player should have ranked higher, especially after having had a stellar November and December. Boston center Patrice Bergeron just missed the top 50 with a ranking of 51. By the way, the list was based on expectations for the season, not past performances.
There were three Bruins who made the top 50. At #43 it was left wing Brad Marchand. Defenseman Charlie McAvoy chimed in at #34. And it was right wing David Pastrnak with the Bruins highest ranking at #21.
