Reba’s Lifetime Movie ‘The Hammer’ Premieres On Saturday
Reba McEntire’s The Hammer, starring and executive produced by Reba, is set to premiere tomorrow. It will air on Lifetime at 8 PM/7 PM CT and will be available to stream the following day.
In The Hammer, Reba plays Kim Wheeler, an outspoken firecracker lawyer appointed Judge of the 5th District of Nevada and one of the few traveling judges left in America.
Reba said in a press release, “I loved the script for The Hammer and could definitely identify with the tough, no-nonsense spirit of the real-life person it was based on. Also, how could I say no to getting to work with my boyfriend, Rex Linn, and my Reba tv show co-star Melissa Peterman again? We had the best time!”
This is Lifetime’s second collaboration with Reba, who also starred in and executive produced her 2021 holiday film, Reba McEntire’s Christmas in Tune.
Leading up to the premiere, Reba will appear on The Talk today (1/6) at 2 PM /1 PM CT. Tomorrow (1/7), Reba and her co-stars will discuss the movie via Facebook Live at 6 PM /5 PM CT. Reba will also be live-tweeting throughout The Hammer’s debut. Fans can join in with Reba by using #TheHammer.
Reba posted to Instagram images from behind the scenes of the new TV movie yesterday (1/5). She captioned the photos, “Go behind the scenes of the filming of Reba McEntire’s #TheHammer with us.”
Many fans reacted to the post, including one who wrote, “All right, Lifetime are we getting multiple movies or possibly a TV show?” Another fan commented, “This should be an interesting role for both Barbra jean and Reba. Like, who knew BJ could be in a jump suite.” One more fan said, “Omg, Reba is the judge against Barbra Jean; that hardly seems fair.”
In August, Reba shared the release of the trailer for the new movie on her social media accounts. As you can see, she does some serious fighting, gun-slinging, and bench-sitting in it.
In the final scene in the trailer, Reba’s character asks a cop, “Would you say I’m a loose cannon?’ And the cop responds, “No, not to your face.”
