Tom Brady retired Patriot? That's a BIG YES, if Robert Kraft get's his way. While we were not that surprised that Tom Brady announced that he's retiring AGAIN, one question remains. Will he retire as a Tampa Bay Buccaneers player? As of now, that is his most recent employer. So protocol would dictate that Brady would retire as a former Tampa Bay player.
Robert Kraft
There is no disputing that Tom is considered the greatest quarterback of all time. So it would make sense that Kraft would love Brady to retire as a Patriot, utilizing something called, a one day contract. According to USA Today:
With attention now turning to his legacy on the football field, there's talk about him signing a one-day contract with the New England Patriots to reunite with the franchise he called home for the first two decades of his NFL career.
"I'd love to do it," Patriots owner Robert Kraft told USA TODAY on Sunday night, "but one way or another, he is a New England Patriot. All of America knows that and we had it for 20 years."
Because he made it clear that he's leaving football, there is no legal binding (that we know of) contract that would stop Tom from signing a one day deal, making him a Patriot again, hence, returning to the glory of New England, to an adoring public, and the open arms of Robert Kraft, to close out a monumental career, where it all started.
It's the perfect, things-come-full-circle, story, if it happens.
Maybe he'll patch things up at home, too.
Stay tuned. It could be a fun Summer, reading the headline: Tom Brady Retired PATRIOT!
Well it's here! The movie 80 For Brady, opened this past weekend.
Brady actually came in at #2 at the box office. It stars screen legends Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field, and Rita Moreno. It also stars, Tom Brady, with screen appearances from Brady pals, Gronk, and Julian Edelman.
Last year, I was surprised to hear that Tom was taking on a movie role, with the four iconic actresses, seeing he was pondering retirement. The review of the movie characterized it as Golden Girls meets The Hangover.
So, is Tom Brady the new Burt Reynolds? I can begin to see him now in a mustache and a Trans Am.
Inspired By Real Life Story
According to Wikipedia:
Did you know that the film is inspired by a real-life group of Patriots fans known as the "Over 80 for Brady" club? The grandson of one member pitched the idea for a film.
How Did It Do?
