"I Love You, You Love Me, we're a happy family with a great big huuu..." oh pardon me, I got carried away. That song is my jam. Barney, like everything from our past, is being rebooted! The official word came from toy-maker Mattel that a Barney reboot is on the way in 2024. Since Mattel is spearheading the reboot you can safely assume we'll get some sort of Barney toyline as well.

Mattel hopes to woo the original fans of Barney to watch again, but this time with little ones of their own. In case you're wondering, sorry but Selena Gomez won't be a cast member this time around. We don't have many additional details. We don't know what network or streaming platform will be home to the giant purple dinosaur. We don't know if he'll still have that super pukey voice (but I'll bet $5 that he does!). All we do know is that Barney will now be CGI... and that he will look like this:

On a scale of 0-10, let us know what you think?
I'll give it a 6. I don't hate it. I miss the live-action Barney but I always wanted to beat him up so him being an animation calms those urges in my body so that ain't all bad.
I'm thinking most people hate it way more than me however.

Hey, let's keep the childhood reminiscing going:

These Forgotten Saturday Morning Cartoons Will Make You Miss Being a Kid

I miss Saturday Morning Cartoons. I remember being a kid and waking up on Saturday mornings with nothing on my agenda except plopping down on the couch for a mega-block of brightly colored entertainment. Life was good. At some point Saturday Morning Cartoons got the ol' heave-ho from the TV networks in lieu of cheaper-production-cost, easier and faster to crank out programming. Here's a list of Saturday Morning Cartoons from the 1970's, 1980's, and 1990's - some you'll remember, some you won't. Hopefully they'll bring back a memory and a smile.

SHIRT TALES

"Shirt Tales" premiered on NBC in 1982 and ran for 23 episodes.

LASSIE'S RESCUE RANGERS

"Lassie's Rescue Rangers" ran for one season from 1972 to 1973 on ABC.

ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES

"Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" ran from 1990 to 1991 for 2 seasons with a total of 21 episodes.

WUZZLES

"Wuzzles" only ran for 1 season (13 episodes total) in 1985.

THE NEW ADVENTURES OF GILLIGAN

"The New Adventures of Gilligan" ran from 1974-1975.

LIFE WITH LOUIE

"Life With Louie" ran for 3 seasons on FOX starting in 1994.

PAC-MAN

"Pac-Man" ran for 2 super-sized seasons, cranking out 44 episodes from 1982-1983.

THE BRADY KIDS

"The Brady Kids" ran for 2 seasons, premiering on ABC in 1972.

BIKER MICE FROM MARS

"Biker Mice From Mars" premiered in 1993 and lasted for 3 seasons (65 episodes).

HULK HOGAN'S ROCK 'n' WRESTLING

"Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling" aired for 2 seasons, premiering in 1985. It aired 26 episodes in total.

LAND OF THE LOST

Not a cartoon... but this show's reruns used to scare the BLEEP out of me every weekend. "Land of the Lost" aired for 3 seasons starting in 1974.

BANANAMAN

"Bananaman" ran from 1983-1986. It was a British show, originally airing on the BBC. I think I remember watching it on Nickelodeon?

ReBOOT

"ReBoot" was a Canadian-produced show. I grew up in Vermont so I saw it a ton - was it on in Boston too? Anyway, it was creepy-weird and ran from 1994 all the way through 2001.

GET ALONG GANG

The "Get Along Gang" premiered in 1984 and only lasted for 13 episodes.

THE LITTLES

I loved "The Littles." It ran for 3 seasons, airing 29 episodes starting in 1983.

SAMURAI PIZZA CATS

"Samurai Pizza Cats" aired 52 episodes between 1990 and 1991.

BEETLEJUICE

"Beetlejuice" the cartoon series was actually very successful, airing for 4 seasons and 94 episodes.

ADVENTURES OF THE GUMMI BEARS

"Adventures of the Gummi Bears" made me want gummiberry juice so freaking bad. It ran from 1985-1991.

HAMMERMAN

"Hammerman" lasted for only 13 episodes, airing on ABC between 1991 and 1992.

MUPPET BABIES

"Muppet Babies" is iconic and beloved - I had to include it because the theme song still randomly gets stuck in my head to this day.
