Of course I had to get a picture in front of the “Greetings from NOLA” sign!

Girl's trip to New Orleans! Here's one thing I want you to know about me. I am a busy woman! I obviously have this job on-air with Country 102.5, which takes up my mornings. But, I also am a country music singer. A lot of my nights are booked with music gigs. And I am now a new mom, which means I really don't have much time for "fun" things anymore. That's why it was so important to go on a girl's trip with my best friend, Elle.

My bestie and I try and see each other for a fun girl's trip once a year. Right before the world shut down due to Covid, we traveled to London. (Literally, it was the week before). But, we had a blast walking around London. We tracked 13-15 miles per day on foot and saw almost the entire city. We even saw the Dropkick Murphy's while they were on tour. The whole trip was amazing. So we had to up-the-anti and go to a new spot... New Orleans!

NOLA For Easter Weekend

Neither of us had been to New Orleans. Technically I went when I was 12-years-old for a basketball tournament, but that doesn't count. A few months ago I threw out the idea of going to Miami together because I wanted warm weather. Elle suggested New Orleans. We decided, New Orleans it was!

I booked a flight and flew from Boston. She drove from Nashville. She picked me up at the airport and our adventure began!! We ate, drank, and walked our way through every street in New Orleans. Tried oysters from the gulf and alligator multiple times. We even ate a pound of crawfish each! We shopped and talked and caught up. It was the best girl's trip ever! (I even rode a mechanical bull on Bourbon Street).

Takeaways From New Orleans

New Orleans was a very dirty city. There was trash everywhere. Everyone seemed to be trying to sell us something. It's definitely a city that needs a little TLC. But if you are going there for the food, it's a great place to go! I would suggest going on Yelp or OpenTable to find some food suggestions. There's a lot of cuisines to choose from! But their specialty is crawfish and oysters.

Would we go back? Probably not. But, did we have the best time together? YES WE DID!
