4 Different Massachusetts Stores Had 100k Lottery Winners Yesterday
Massachusetts has enjoyed some luck lately. With both the Bruins and Celtics doing well in the playoffs, there’s certainly been no shortage of winning around here. And the luck seems to be spreading, as four different Massachusetts stores had 100k lottery winners yesterday.
Masslottery.com has reported that stores in Stoughton, Centerville, Lowell, and Ipswich sold $100,000 prize tickets. Eighteen other Massachusetts locations had $20,000 lottery tickets won yesterday (April 25).
As for the six-figure spots, the stores were a Stoughton Quick Stop, Centerville Food Mart, Lowell Xtra Mart, and a Cumberland Farms in Ipswich. Three of the winning games were the MILLIONS tickets, while Mass Cash was the winning ticket out of Lowell.
The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a list of winners each day (over $600). This includes the game played and the store aligned.
To further back our recent Celtic luck news, the same Seekonk store sold two Mass Cash winning tickets, Mass Live reports. “On Friday (April 21st), two ‘Mass Tickets’ won the $100,000 prize. Chris Gasbarro’s Fine Wine in Seekonk sold both,” the article states. That’s not a bad way to start your weekend.
What Does a Winning Ticket Mean To The Store?
While the reward for the store that delivered the winning ticket is not always disclosed, prizes are often aligned for locations that sold it. These cash prizes are often considered a “bonus” and are not taken from the winning ticket amount.
Last summer, Ted’s Stateline Mobil in Methuen gained a reputation as being a “Lucky Store.” Two winners had one million dollar prize tickets from this Mobil station. Mass Live also reported a Saugus resident won a Mega Millions lottery after stopping into this same store upon learning about its recent hot streak.
As for this Ted’s Mobil location, they were also considered winners – receiving a $10,000 prize for selling the wins.
The lottery announces Mass Cash drawings at 9 p.m. each night. Last night, one of the ticket holders from the four Massachusetts stores that had lottery winners drew a Match 5 with Mass Cash. How many lucky winners will there be tonight?
