“Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger!" That iconic line is from the 1997 Nickolodeon comedy hit will come to life once again in a sequel. Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell will be back as Dexter Reed and Ed in Good Burger 2. Twenty five years later the story continues, but they need you. Want to be in a movie? Good Burger 2 is filming in Rhode Island and needs extras/actors.
If you've always dreamed of being in a movie, here's your chance. As reported to Mass Live from the Rhode Island Film's Facebook post, the filming of Good Burger 2 will take place in mid May. Interested? Just enter through the Boston Casting website. You will need a headshot, and you can fill out an application there. No release date has be given, as of yet.
The filming will reportedly take place at the site of a former Friendly's restaurant.
The Oscars have come and gone, but we still have the movies on our mind. Let's dig into this Top 10 list of movies filmed in Massachusetts.
The list comes courtesy of BetMassachusetts. They titled it Top 10 Massachusetts Movies: Best Movies Filmed in Massachusetts. Pretty straightforward, right? But you might ask: how did they come up with this particular Top 10? What's the methodology? It's quite simple. They used the IMDB ratings of the films, alongside the Rotten Tomatoes audience score, Rotten Tomatoes critics score, Box Office tally, and Oscar recognition. In other words, the data is sound.
We'll get into the Top 10 below, but I wanted to share some thoughts first. I like this list because the film you'd expect to sit atop the Top 10 actually lands in second place. It's always a treat when you get an unexpected outcome like that. What's more, the Top 10 consists primarily of films released in the last 20 years. That's refreshing. Usually, with a "Top 10 Movies" list you end up with a lot of older fare. Which is fine. But again, the treat of the unexpected outcome makes this list a standout for me.
A Top 10 List of Movies Filmed in Massachusetts
One more note before we dive in: the movie that landed at number three is a must-see. It was released just a few years ago and, when it was, I had friends and family members harping on me to watch it. I put it off and put it off and, when I finally got around to it, I was blown away. It's not often you have a film with a protagonist who you're rooting for but who, at the same time, is so damn unlikable.
Take a look at the list and let us know your faves that were left off on the ROCK 92.9 Facebook and Twitter. Maybe we can make our own Top 10 list together!
